Some people say that they don’t mind about having a good pronunciation because they only want to communicate. They believe that can still converse even with bad pronunciation. They are satisfied with their communication skills.
Nonetheless, for the listeners especially the native speakers may find bad pronunciation unpleasant and difficult to comprehend which often leads to miscommunication or misunderstanding.
In JELAI, we really value the importance of learning and speaking with proper pronunciation. Our main goal in teaching pronunciation is for the students to communicate effectively with confidence and sound professionally at the same time.
Having a suitable curriculum, being student-centered, helping students become self-reliant, giving opportunities to practice and knowing what’s best for them are the best ways to improve students pronunciation skill.
